The Buena Vista Singletrack Coalition (BVSC), a non-profit trail advocacy organization, committed to building and maintaining sustainable trails for muscle-powered users in Buena Vista, Colorado.  As part of its' activities, BVSC organizes "workdays" for volunteers to work on trail projects in and around Buena Vista.  From time to time BVSC asks volunteers to work on other projects as needed that are not part of "workday" activities.  This work is on a volunteer basis for the benefit of the Buena Vista singletrack community.  The person signing this Liability Release Form is voluntarily participating in one or more of these activities.

In consideration for allowing myself or my minor child to voluntarily participate in one or more BVSC programs and activities, I hereby sign this General Liability Release Form, and acknowledge and agree as follows on behalf of myself and/or my child:

I acknowledge that these activities may be dangerous, and I assume the risks, known and unknown, that may result in possible loss, damage, injury, or death. I realize that I must be prepared for all risks presented by participation in these activities including, among other things, changeable weather conditions, rough terrain, lack of medical facilities, etc. and will take appropriate actions by wearing appropriate outdoor shoes and protective clothing, by consuming adequate amounts of drinking water and using sunscreen, and by generally being attentive to the surrounding physical hazards. With full knowledge of the hazards and responsibilities, I confirm that I have read this General Liability Release Form and voluntarily assume all risks occurring in connection with the BVSC outings. I agree to be solely responsible for my own safety and to take every precaution to provide for the safety and well-being of myself and my family while participating in BVSC activities. I also understand that there may not be rescue or medical expertise available on BVSC outings and agree to be responsible for any medical or rescue fees incurred as a result of sickness or injury.

I, on behalf of myself, my family, heirs and representatives, hereby expressly exempt, waive, release, indemnify, discharge and hold harmless BVSC and any and all BVSC volunteers, employees, chapters, agency partners, guides, directors, and associated or affiliated persons, from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, causes of action, or damages for injury, illness or loss that may arise from my or my child’s participation in BVSC’s programs and activities, whether caused or created by the acts, errors, omissions or negligence of BVSC, its employees, officers or agents, or some other person or cause. I further agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless agencies and personal property owners allowing access to private and public lands from any and all injuries, damages, loss, claims, liability, demands, or causes of action which arise from or are related to my or child’s participation in BVSC’s programs or activities.

I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT AND THAT BY SIGNING IT I AM GIVING UP MY RIGHT TO SUE OR OTHERWISE MAKE A CLAIM against BVSC or other persons/agencies mentioned above. My signature below indicates that I have read this document in its entirety, that I understand it completely, and that it affects my legal rights and the legal rights of my child, and that I, and my child, agree to be bound by its terms. I also acknowledge that I am providing this waiver and release in advance for the benefit of BVSC knowing that all possible risks or causes of injury can neither be foreseen nor eliminated.
